The Rijksmuseum chooses the “P” of Personnel. The From the Inside Out project is designed to make all employees feel at home. ‘Don’t feel forced, but do force yourself to look for ways you can contribute to diversity and inclusion within your organization and society.’ Sherida Zorg, diversity manager, said: “We want to take the first steps in that area, and for us that means we have started working on raising awareness among our staff. Because we think it’s important to bring in new staff, bring in diverse staff. But that diverse staff comes in well, we think, when our incumbent staff is receptive to that new staff.” “My personal motivation for participating in the From the Inside Out project was that I wanted to contribute to creating a more open atmosphere at the museum. I also wanted to encourage my colleagues to do the same. To also be open and vulnerable and start telling their stories.”, thinks Koen van Santen, Head of Membership.
