SMALL MEASURES MAKE BIG DIFFERENCE
On June 25, Diversity in Business hosted the webinar “Working with a disability in corona time” with guest speaker Sven Romkes, the man behind ABN AMRO’s B-Able program. More than 110 participants pondered the question of what companies can do to make a difference for employees with disabilities, especially at this time.
Hoofdvraag van het webinar was hoe we de negatieve gevolgen van de corona-crisis en de lockdown op een intelligente manier kunnen beperken en kunnen omzetten in nieuwe kansen op werk en werkbehoud voor mensen met een arbeidsbeperking of chronische ziekte. Those negative effects such as rising unemployment and fewer job opportunities in the near future are very real. They often do not have permanent but temporary and flexible contracts and are at risk of being the first to lose their jobs, if there will be budget cuts and layoffs. This threatens to evaporate the progress made in recent years with the results of the jobs agreement and other initiatives. There is, in short, every reason for concern.
