REFUGEE COMPANY: “Onze missie is om mensen met een vluchtelingenachtergrond te helpen economisch onafhankelijk en zelfredzaam te worden door werk te vinden, betaald of op vrijwillige basis. Via leerwerktrajecten bieden we mensen met een vluchtelingenachtergrond een veilige plek in een van onze sociale ondernemingen: de horecalocaties A Beautiful Mess (Amsterdam, Arnhem en Utrecht), het naaiatelier A Beautiful Mess – Makerspace en de Mondmaskerfabriek. Mensen komen in beweging, doen ervaring op en bouwen aan een netwerk. In de trajecten bieden we ook ondersteuning op het gebied van taal, inburgering, persoonlijke ontwikkeling en well-being. Verder willen we de samenleving graag inspireren open te staan voor mensen met een vluchtelingenachtergrond, ze te waarderen en bij te dragen aan hun zoektocht naar een betekenisvol leven in Nederland.

We vieren the beauty in the mess. Iets beginnen gaat altijd rommelig. Relaties zijn niet eenvoudig. De uitkomsten zijn onzeker. Het leven is niet perfect. Dingen zijn normaal vandaag, morgen abnormaal en onbekend. We vieren the beauty in the mess, de schoonheid in de chaos. De onvolkomenheden, gebreken en onzekerheden. Schoonheid zit in het oog van de ontvanger en we kiezen ervoor om de schoonheid in de mensheid te zien. Waar mensen ook vandaan kwamen en welk pad ze ook moesten bewandelen. A Beautiful Mess. Een veilige plek waar we integratie versnellen en diversiteit vieren.”

REFUGEE COMPANY: “Our mission is to help people with a refugee background become economically independent and self-reliant by finding work, either paid or voluntary. Through apprenticeships, we offer people with a refugee background a secure place in one of our social enterprises: the hospitality locations A Beautiful Mess (Amsterdam, Arnhem and Utrecht), the sewing studio A Beautiful Mess – Makerspace and the Mouth Mask Factory. People get moving, gain experience and build a network. In the pathways, we also offer support in the areas of language, integration, personal development and well-being. Furthermore, we would like to inspire society to be open to people with a refugee background, appreciate them and contribute to their search for a meaningful life in the Netherlands. We celebrate the beauty in the mess. Starting something is always messy. Relationships are not easy. Outcomes are uncertain. Life is not perfect. Things are normal today, abnormal and unknown tomorrow. We celebrate the beauty in the mess, the beauty in the chaos. The imperfections, flaws and uncertainties. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and we choose to see the beauty in humanity. Wherever people came from and whatever path they had to walk. A Beautiful Mess. A safe place where we accelerate integration and celebrate diversity.”
