
It won’t surprise you, but diversity and inclusion (D&I) are highly valued at the Amsterdam municipality. In addition to initiating Amsterdam – Diverse & Inclusive, which focuses on the Amsterdam business community, there is also a lot of focus on D&I within the municipality. Two municipal employees explain how they ensure more inclusive recruitment and selection of new colleagues. Because: the more diversity in the organization, the better the contact with the city’s residents and the sharper the eye for what is needed. Only with an inclusive culture can the City of Amsterdam do its job well and become a better employer.
